Now that you have created wealth over your lifetime to be able to enjoy life comfortably, how do you protect it and create your legacy?
As a result of the complex, ever changing tax landscape, estate planning is vital to the protection of your wealth. At Harrison Financial I will work with you, your tax advisor and your trust & estate planning attorney to ensure that your family’s lifetime of accumulation of wealth can be preserved for the benefit of future generations.
I assist my investment management clients with their estate planning needs and wishes. In becoming my client, I will explore potential tax gaps between your existing estate plan and your intentions (i.e. your will or trust). If there is no estate plan, I will work with your trust & estate planning attorney and tax advisor to create and document a strategic and purposeful distribution of your wealth.
Deciding who gets your money, and making sure they pay as little in taxes as possible is an essential part of building your legacy.
This includes lifetime giving, beneficiary selection strategies, and more. We all have values, and we all want to leave behind legacies that are manifestations of those values. By making sure your money is transferred efficiently to the family members and/or organizations most near and dear to your heart, you are taking care of the things that matter.
I am neither an attorney nor a tax advisor. I cannot draft wills or trusts on your behalf or give you tax advice. However, I am experienced in helping clients draft objectives, based on their financial plan, to review with the clients’ trust & estate planning attorney. I will review drafts of the estate documents to make sure that my clients’ objectives are properly incorporated and that the administration of the trust will run smoothly. Thereafter, I will set up the accounts to be funded in order to be aligned with your wishes.
While I assist with these functions on my clients’ behalf, I do not provide legal or tax advice as it pertains to estate planning issues or otherwise. The preparation of legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship and living wills must be prepared by a duly licensed attorney of your state of residence. I can provide general advice on such documents, but must always defer to your legal counsel.
